Resident Evil 5 Mod Adds 360-Degree Movement and Shooting
A new Resident Evil 5 PC mod introduces modern movement controls, allowing players to aim, shoot, and move simultaneously without the restrictions of the original game's combat system.
The modification, called RE3Controls, was developed by modder palecvzhope and is available for Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition on PC.
According to the original RE3Controls page on Nexus Mods, the project introduces a free over-the-shoulder camera inspired by Resident Evil 3 Remake, alongside improved movement and weapon handling.
Unlike the original Resident Evil 5, which requires players to remain stationary while firing, the mod allows characters to move around enemies while aiming and shooting.
Players can also reload weapons, switch equipment, and reposition themselves during combat, creating a faster and more flexible gameplay experience.
The modification supports both keyboard and mouse controls and Xbox-compatible controllers, with customizable settings available through a configuration file.
Additional features include a centered crosshair, quick-turn functionality, and the ability to keep moving while the inventory is open.
The developer has also included options to disable individual gameplay changes, allowing players to retain parts of the original control system.
RE3Controls supports the Steam version of Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition, specifically game version 1.2.0.
Although local split-screen functionality is supported, online cooperative compatibility has not been fully tested.
The mod is an unofficial community project and is not associated with Capcom. Players interested in trying the updated controls can download it directly from Nexus Mods.
