Resident Evil 5 Mod Adds 360-Degree Movement and Shooting

A new Resident Evil 5 PC mod brings modern movement mechanics to Capcom's classic survival horror game, allowing players to move freely in 360 degrees while aiming and shooting without stopping.

The unofficial modification, called RE3Controls – Modern Camera and Controls Overhaul, replaces several restrictions found in the original game with a control system inspired by Resident Evil 3 Remake.

Created by modder palecvzhope, the project introduces a free-moving over-the-shoulder camera, improved aiming controls, and the ability to reload or switch weapons while walking.

According to the original Nexus Mods page, players can also use a centered crosshair and perform quick turns, making combat feel closer to modern Resident Evil titles.

The mod supports both keyboard and mouse controls and Xbox-compatible controllers. Its individual features can be adjusted or disabled through a configuration file, allowing players to customize the experience.

RE3Controls was originally uploaded on October 9, 2026, and updated to version 1.9 on October 14. It is designed for Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition version 1.2.0 on Steam, running on Windows 10 or newer.

Local split-screen functionality is supported, while online cooperative play includes synchronization features that have not yet been fully tested in live sessions.

The project remains an unofficial community modification rather than an update from Capcom. Players interested in experiencing Resident Evil 5 with more flexible movement and combat controls can find the mod through its original Nexus Mods listing.
