Resident Evil 7 Fan Film Stars Chandler Riggs as Ethan Winters

Chandler Riggs, best known for playing Carl Grimes in The Walking Dead, has released a new Resident Evil 7 fan film titled BIOHAZARD. The approximately 19-minute live-action adaptation is now available on YouTube, with Riggs portraying the game's protagonist, Ethan Winters.

According to Bloody Disgusting, the unofficial short film recreates several memorable scenes from Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, including the Baker family dinner and Ethan Winters' confrontation with Jack Baker in the garage.

Released on October 14, 2026, the unofficial short film recreates several memorable moments from Capcom's Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, including the Baker family dinner and Ethan's confrontation with Jack Baker in the garage.

Riggs wrote, directed, and edited the project in addition to taking the lead role. Fellow The Walking Dead actor Jason Douglas plays Jack Baker, while Mary Rachel Quinn, Eugenie Bondurant, Johnathan O'Neil, and Sam Coyles also appear in the cast.

The production relied heavily on practical effects, physical stunts, and detailed sets to recreate the atmosphere of the original game. Part of the Baker family home was constructed inside a former Arturo Fuente cigar factory in the Tampa Bay area.

Greg Nicotero, known for his special effects work on The Walking Dead, also supported the production by providing special effects equipment.

Speaking to IGN, Riggs explained that he wanted to create a live-action adaptation that remained faithful to Resident Evil 7. However, he acknowledged one significant change: showing Ethan Winters' face, which is largely hidden throughout the original first-person game.

The actor also expressed interest in collaborating with director Zach Cregger on a future Resident Evil project.

BIOHAZARD is an independent fan production rather than an official Capcom adaptation. The short film offers fans a different interpretation of Resident Evil 7 while preserving several recognizable elements from the 2017 game.
