Resident Evil 7 Gets Live-Action Film From Walking Dead Star
Resident Evil 7: Biohazard has received an unofficial live-action adaptation starring Chandler Riggs, best known for playing Carl Grimes in The Walking Dead.
Titled Biohazard, the 19-minute short film was released for free on YouTube on October 14, 2026. Riggs wrote, directed, edited, and starred in the project, bringing one of Capcom's most memorable horror sequences to life.
Players can watch the complete Resident Evil 7 fan film on Chandler Riggs' YouTube channel.
The film follows Ethan Winters, played by Riggs, as he searches for his missing wife and encounters the terrifying Baker family.
Its central sequence recreates Ethan's confrontation with Jack Baker inside the garage, one of the most recognizable encounters from the original game.
Jason Douglas, another former The Walking Dead actor, portrays Jack Baker, while Mary Rachel Quinn plays Marguerite Baker. The cast also includes Eugenie Bondurant and Sam Coyles.
In an original Reddit discussion, Riggs confirmed that he deliberately changed certain elements of the game's sequence for the adaptation.
The production relied heavily on practical sets, physical effects, and stunt work, transforming a former cigar factory in Tampa Bay into part of the Baker family's residence.
Biohazard currently holds an 8.3/10 user rating on IMDb, although the score may change as additional reviews are submitted.
Riggs has also expressed interest in developing a feature-length Resident Evil adaptation in the future.
However, Biohazard remains an independent, noncommercial fan project and is not officially affiliated with Capcom or the Resident Evil franchise.
