Resident Evil Requiem Leads PS5 Physical Sales in 2026

Resident Evil Requiem has become the best-selling physical PlayStation 5 game released in 2026, with an estimated 1.3 million copies sold on disc, according to new market research from Alinea Analytics.

The Capcom survival horror game leads this year's physical sales rankings on Sony's console, ahead of several major releases, including 007 First Light and Marvel's Wolverine.

The figures come from Alinea Analytics' head of market analysis, Rhys Elliott, who shared the latest findings through the company's market research newsletter and social media.

According to Elliott's original sales analysis shared on X, physical PS5 copies of Resident Evil Requiem generated approximately $92.3 million in revenue.

These sales account for around 30.2% of the game's PlayStation revenue and approximately 15% of its total revenue across all platforms.

Another notable finding is that Resident Evil Requiem reportedly generated 1.8 times more revenue from physical PS5 copies alone than from all Xbox versions combined, including digital and physical purchases.

The game's estimated 1.3 million physical sales also place it ahead of 007 First Light, which reportedly sold 873,000 discs, and Marvel's Wolverine, with approximately 799,000 physical copies.

The results suggest that physical editions remain an important part of the PlayStation market, particularly for major single-player games.

However, digital purchases continue to account for the majority of overall sales, and physical demand varies significantly between individual games and regions.

All figures are estimates from Alinea Analytics rather than official sales totals released by Capcom or Sony.
