RPCS3 Emulator Now Runs Over 80% of PS3 Games on PC
The RPCS3 emulator has reached a major milestone, with more than 80% of PlayStation 3 games now classified as fully playable on PC, according to the development team's latest compatibility statistics.
In an official announcement on X, the developers confirmed that improvements to CPU, GPU, and PlayStation Move emulation have helped more PS3 titles reach playable status throughout 2026.
The latest figures show that 2,855 of the 3,568 games tracked in RPCS3's compatibility database are now rated Playable, representing 80.02% of the tested library.
Under RPCS3's classification system, Playable means a game can be completed from beginning to end with acceptable performance and without game-breaking glitches.
Another 688 games, representing 19.28%, are classified as Ingame. These titles can reach gameplay but may suffer from serious technical problems, insufficient performance, or issues preventing completion.
Only 25 games remain in the Intro category, meaning they display menus or introductory screens but cannot progress into gameplay. No titles are currently listed under Loadable or Nothing.
The milestone follows several improvements to the emulator's handling of the PS3's Cell processor, RSX graphics hardware, and peripheral devices.
RPCS3 began 2026 with 2,558 playable games, meaning nearly 300 additional titles have reached that status since January.
The development team has also confirmed that further improvements are planned before the end of 2026.
Players can check individual game compatibility through the official RPCS3 compatibility database before attempting to run their PS3 games on PC.
