Saros PS5 Emulator Test Reports Up to 8 FPS on RTX 4080

An early PC emulation test of Saros reportedly shows the PlayStation 5 game running at up to 8 FPS through KytyPS5, using an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 graphics card.

The October 23 report describes performance ranging between 5 and 8 FPS, compared with approximately 1–2 FPS in earlier attempts. However, the original benchmark footage has not been independently verified, and the claimed fourfold improvement remains unconfirmed.

The reported test used KytyPS5 build 7b7f9a7 with the European game version PPSA07631, alongside 64GB of DDR5-6000 memory and a 4TB NVMe SSD.

KytyPS5 is an experimental open-source PlayStation 5 emulator developed for Windows and Linux, with additional macOS support under development.

According to the official KytyPS5 GitHub repository, the emulator can boot selected 3D games and uses Vulkan to translate graphics workloads for PC hardware.

The project remains focused on improving game compatibility, startup reliability, and graphics rendering.

The Saros report also claims that the tested build displayed textures, shadows, and lighting without major visual artifacts, although occasional stuttering occurred during shader compilation.

These observations have not been confirmed through an independently accessible recording.

Even if the reported performance figures are accurate, 5–8 FPS remains far below playable speeds. The results would demonstrate limited execution rather than full compatibility with the game.

Further testing, reproducible benchmarks, and emulator updates are needed to establish whether Saros can eventually run reliably on PC hardware.
