Shrek 2 Remastered Trailer Parodies GTA 6 Ahead of Reveal

Shrek 2 Remastered has appeared online ahead of its expected official announcement, with a newly leaked trailer parodying the promotional style of GTA 6.

The trailer opens with visuals inspired by Rockstar Games' upcoming title, featuring palm trees, neon lighting, and a presentation resembling Vice City before revealing the return of Shrek.

According to a Microsoft Store listing documented by Gematsu, the remaster is being developed by Aspyr and is planned for Xbox Series X|S.

The listing also revealed several improvements over the original 2004 game, including enhanced textures, updated cutscenes, a redesigned interface, and support for 4K resolution.

New features include Photo Mode and Cheat Mode, alongside cooperative multiplayer for up to four players. The game will support local and online co-op, including mixed multiplayer sessions.

Players will once again explore familiar locations from the Shrek universe, switching between characters to solve puzzles, battle enemies, and progress through the story.

The leaked trailer and store listing appeared shortly before the ID@Xbox Showcase scheduled for October 20, 2026.

Shrek also appeared briefly in promotional footage for the event, suggesting that a formal announcement could take place during the presentation.

However, neither a release date nor additional platforms have been confirmed.

Originally released in 2004, Shrek 2 became a memorable movie-based action-adventure game featuring characters from the DreamWorks animated film.
