Sonic X Shadow Generations Sales Surpass 3 Million Copies

Sonic X Shadow Generations has officially surpassed three million copies sold worldwide, SEGA announced on October 26, 2026, marking another sales milestone for the game two years after its original release.

The figure includes physical copies and digital purchases across all supported platforms. SEGA confirmed the achievement in an official press release, although the company did not provide a breakdown of sales by console, PC, or region.

Originally released on October 25, 2024, Sonic X Shadow Generations combines a remastered version of the 2011 game Sonic Generations with an entirely new campaign starring Shadow the Hedgehog.

The Sonic portion revisits classic stages with upgraded visuals and additional content, while Shadow Generations introduces a separate adventure exploring the character's past and his confrontation with Black Doom.

The collection reached one million worldwide sales shortly after launch in October 2024. SEGA subsequently announced that sales had passed two million in January 2025, making the latest figure another significant milestone for the release.

The game is available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store.

SEGA also highlighted the title's international reach, noting that it supports 13 languages and has been promoted through events in multiple regions.

The announcement arrives during Sonic the Hedgehog's 35th anniversary year. However, SEGA has not connected the sales milestone to any new expansion, sequel, or additional content announcement.

For now, the three-million figure reflects cumulative worldwide sales rather than a newly announced release or update.
