Space Marine 2 Developer Working on Unannounced AAA FPS

Saber Interactive, the studio behind Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, is recruiting developers for an unannounced AAA first-person shooter set in an established fictional universe.

The project was revealed through a Senior Narrative Designer job listing published on October 14, 2026, for the company's Saint Petersburg studio.

According to Saber Interactive's recruitment listing, the upcoming shooter is being developed using Unreal Engine 5 and is described as taking place in a famous universe.

The successful candidate will oversee the game's narrative direction, working alongside designers and writers to integrate storytelling into gameplay.

Interestingly, the listing also requires knowledge of contemporary PvPvE multiplayer shooters, suggesting that competitive and cooperative gameplay systems could be relevant to the project.

However, Saber has not confirmed the game's multiplayer structure or revealed which franchise it belongs to.

In February 2025, Hasbro announced a separate AAA collaboration with Saber Interactive, confirming that the Space Marine 2 development team would create a game based on one of Hasbro's major properties.

Hasbro CEO Chris Cocks described that project as combining single-player action with multiplayer gameplay powered by Saber's Swarm technology.

The difference in technology raises questions about whether the newly discovered Unreal Engine 5 shooter is connected to the Hasbro partnership or represents another unannounced project.

Transformers and G.I. Joe are among Hasbro's recognizable franchises, but neither has been confirmed for this particular game.

Saber Interactive has not announced a title, release date, or target platforms for the Unreal Engine 5 project.
