Star Wars Battlefront 3 Reportedly in Early Talks
Star Wars Battlefront 3 could be moving closer to reality, as a new report claims Disney and Lucasfilm are exploring potential development partners for another entry in the popular multiplayer shooter series.
According to the latest issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly, Lucasfilm is reportedly interested in reviving Star Wars Battlefront, with EA DICE and Bungie emerging as two possible studios for the project.
The information was discussed by industry journalist Jeff Grubb during the October 19 episode of Game Mess Mornings, where he highlighted claims from the magazine's Quartermann rumor column.
The original discussion can be watched on Game Mess Mornings.
DICE previously developed Star Wars Battlefront in 2015 and Star Wars Battlefront II in 2017, making it a familiar candidate for another installment.
Bungie would represent a different direction for the franchise. The studio is best known for its work on Halo and Destiny, giving it extensive experience developing multiplayer shooters.
However, the report does not establish that either studio has signed an agreement or started developing Star Wars Battlefront 3.
Lucasfilm has not officially announced the game, and no release window, platforms, or gameplay details have been confirmed.
Interest in another Battlefront installment has remained strong since the release of Battlefront II, which continued receiving updates for several years after its original launch.
The rumored discussions also come as Lucasfilm Games expands its collaborations with different developers across the Star Wars franchise.
For now, Star Wars Battlefront 3 remains an unconfirmed project, and any potential return of the series will depend on whether Lucasfilm reaches an agreement with a development partner.
