Star Wars Battlefront 3 Reportedly in Development at DICE and Respawn

Star Wars Battlefront 3 is reportedly in development at Electronic Arts, with DICE and Respawn Entertainment joining forces on the next installment of the multiplayer shooter franchise.

The information emerged on October 21, 2026, following an official announcement from EA confirming that the two studios are collaborating on an unannounced project.

In its official corporate update, Electronic Arts stated that DICE and Respawn will work together on a future shooter project as part of the publisher's revised development strategy.

Although EA did not identify the game, a new report from Variety claims that the collaboration involves Star Wars Battlefront 3, citing sources familiar with the project.

The reported partnership would bring together two studios with considerable experience developing shooters and Star Wars games.

DICE previously developed Star Wars Battlefront in 2015 and Star Wars Battlefront II in 2017. Respawn Entertainment created Titanfall and Apex Legends, alongside the single-player adventures Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.

The news comes during a major restructuring at Electronic Arts, which includes the closure of BioWare and workforce reductions affecting approximately 3% of the company's employees.

EA has also confirmed that it intends to continue investing in Battlefield, Apex Legends, and its upcoming Star Wars Jedi project.

For now, Star Wars Battlefront 3 remains unannounced. Neither Electronic Arts nor Lucasfilm Games has officially confirmed the reported title, its development status, or a potential release window.

Further details about the DICE and Respawn collaboration are expected when EA formally reveals the project.
