The Order: 1886 PC Port Supports Mouse and Keyboard
The Order: 1886, one of the most visually impressive PlayStation 4 exclusives, now has an unofficial PC port that supports mouse and keyboard controls, higher frame rates, and several display customization options.
The fan-made project is being developed by Mateus Meneses and is publicly available through its official GitHub repository. However, the port remains in an early development stage, with several technical limitations still being addressed.
Unlike traditional PlayStation 4 emulation, the project runs the game's original executable directly on a PC processor. A custom runtime replaces the console's system libraries, while the shadPS4 graphics core translates PlayStation 4 GPU instructions into Vulkan.
One of the most notable additions is native keyboard and mouse support. Players can move using WASD, control the camera with the mouse, and use mouse buttons for aiming and shooting.
The developer has also implemented an experimental 60 FPS patch, allowing the game to exceed the original PlayStation 4 version's 30 FPS limit.
According to the project's documentation, testing on an RTX 5060 Laptop GPU produced an average of approximately 57 FPS during a four-minute prologue run with the experimental patch enabled.
Additional features include adjustable field of view, ultrawide aspect ratio options, controller support, and an in-game performance overlay.
Despite this progress, the developer has not yet verified the complete campaign. Gameplay beyond the prologue, audio functionality, and compatibility with other hardware configurations still require further testing.
The project is not affiliated with Sony or Ready at Dawn, and users must provide files from their own copy of The Order: 1886.
For now, the unofficial PC port offers an early look at how the former PlayStation exclusive could run on modern computers.
