The Order: 1886 Runs on PC Through Unofficial Project
The Order: 1886, one of PlayStation 4's most visually impressive exclusives, is reportedly running on PC through an unofficial community project, more than a decade after its original release.
The game, developed by Ready at Dawn and released in February 2015, has never received an official Windows version from Sony.
According to a report published on October 16, the experimental project builds on work associated with FelipePrado0, a developer previously linked to efforts to bring God of War III to PC.
Early results reportedly show significant progress in reproducing the game's visual effects, including volumetric fog, dynamic lighting, shadows, and post-processing.
However, performance remains a major obstacle. The reported build runs at approximately 30 FPS, with frequent frame-rate drops and noticeable stuttering.
These problems suggest that further optimization will be necessary before the project can offer a consistently smooth experience.
The Order: 1886 takes place in an alternative version of Victorian London, following an elite group of knights battling supernatural threats with advanced technology.
The original game received attention for its cinematic presentation and detailed graphics, although its relatively short campaign and limited gameplay variety attracted criticism.
While the unofficial PC project represents an interesting technical development, there is currently no confirmed public release date or indication that Sony plans to release an official PC port.
