The Witcher 3 DLSS 5 Mod Adds Photorealistic Graphics With 2X Processing
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has received another impressive visual transformation through an unofficial DLSS 5 modification that applies two neural rendering passes to create more photorealistic graphics.
The experiment gained attention after players shared gameplay footage showing Geralt, character models, and environments with a noticeably different visual appearance.
In an original demonstration posted on Reddit, a community member showcased the results of a dual-pass DLSS 5 configuration.
The setup combines two community tools, ShortFuse and Lecram, which allow players to adjust the appearance of neural rendering effects.
By applying separate processing passes, the configuration can produce more detailed facial features, realistic materials, and cinematic lighting.
However, the results have divided players, with some praising the enhanced realism while others argue that the changes move too far away from The Witcher 3's original artistic direction.
The experimental setup can also introduce visual artifacts, flickering, and inconsistencies when characters or the camera move.
Performance varies depending on hardware, resolution, and the selected rendering settings.
Some users have reported playable frame rates on high-end GeForce RTX graphics cards, although these individual results should not be treated as standardized benchmarks.
The Witcher 3 officially received DLSS 4.5 support through its September 2026 Remastered update, alongside path tracing and additional graphics improvements.
NVIDIA detailed those features in its official technical announcement.
The new DLSS 5 dual-pass configuration remains an unofficial community experiment rather than a graphics feature officially integrated by CD Projekt RED.
