The Witcher 3 Sales Remain Strong After Remastered Release
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt continues to attract players more than a decade after its original launch, with CD Projekt Red reporting strong demand for the fantasy RPG as the franchise enters a new phase.
According to CD Projekt Red's financial results, The Witcher 3 has sold more than 65 million copies worldwide, making it one of the best-selling role-playing games of all time.
The game's popularity has been supported by continued updates, digital promotions, and its availability across multiple platforms. CD Projekt Red expanded its reach further with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered, released on September 29, 2026.
The remastered edition introduces improvements to graphics, performance, and gameplay while including the Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine expansions. It also marks the game's native debut on Nintendo Switch 2.
Existing owners can access the upgraded edition without an additional purchase, giving returning players another opportunity to experience Geralt of Rivia's adventure.
CD Projekt Red is also preparing additional content for the franchise. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Songs of the Past, a new story expansion developed in collaboration with Fool's Theory, is scheduled for 2027.
Meanwhile, The Witcher 4 is planned for 2028 and will begin a new chapter of the series with Ciri as its main protagonist.
Although CD Projekt Red has confirmed strong lifetime sales, it has not disclosed a separate sales total for the remastered edition in the financial update. The company's broader results nevertheless demonstrate the franchise's continued commercial importance.
