Three Mortal Kombat Games Get PC Ports With Rollback Netcode

Three classic Mortal Kombat games have received unofficial native Windows ports through MK3D Online, a fan-developed project that adds rollback netcode and modern online multiplayer to the original Xbox versions of Deadly Alliance, Deception, and Armageddon.

Developer Jstackzz has released version 0.1.7, dated October 27, 2026, introducing automatic launcher updates, lobby spectating, and several fixes to online gameplay.

According to the official GitHub release notes, up to eight spectators can now watch lobby matches, while players can enter practice mode with every fighter unlocked.

The update also introduces configurable death traps in Deception and Armageddon. Ranked matches disable them, while casual matchmaking pairs players using the same preference.

MK3D Online uses XboxXBERecomp to translate the original Xbox executables into native Windows applications rather than simply launching the games through an emulator.

All three titles support rollback-based online matches, with ranked matchmaking, casual games, and private lobbies. Deception includes Chess Kombat and Puzzle Kombat, while Armageddon supports Motor Kombat.

Version 0.1.7 fixes interrupted background music, incorrect controller input affecting opponents, and mismatched gameplay settings during online matches. Disconnect handling has also been improved.

The launcher supports remappable keyboard controls, Xbox and PlayStation controllers, and compatible fighting sticks.

The project remains experimental. Although the developer reports playable builds and working online matches, stability across different hardware and network conditions has not been independently established.

Players must supply their own supported original Xbox game files. MK3D Online is not affiliated with Warner Bros., NetherRealm Studios, Midway, or Microsoft.
