Tomodachi Life PC Port Beta Adds 4K and Mii Sharing
Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream has received an unofficial native Windows port through a static recompilation project developed by josiahg2502-glitch, featuring 4K resolution, widescreen support, and network-based Mii sharing.
The project entered public beta on October 29, 2026, with version 0.1.1-beta released later the same day to resolve installation problems affecting the initial build.
According to the official TomodachiLife-recomp GitHub repository, the project translates the Nintendo Switch game's code into a Windows executable using components from ssbu-recomp, without running a conventional Switch emulator underneath.
The developer reports that the game is playable from beginning to end, including island creation, Mii customization, residents, shops, and other core activities. However, complete compatibility has not been independently established.
PC enhancements include resolutions up to 4K, widescreen rendering, VSync, controller support, customizable keyboard and mouse controls, and save import from Nintendo Switch.
The port also adapts Local Play for network-based Mii exchanges. Players can connect through the same local network or use room codes for internet connections, although testing between separate home networks remains incomplete.
A Windows launcher provides graphics settings, language selection, and save backup and restoration tools.
Version 0.1.1-beta fixes an installer issue that previously prevented the included runtime from being accepted and improves installation from existing game dumps.
The project supports game versions 1.0.0 and 1.0.4, requires Windows 10 or 11 and an OpenGL 4.5-compatible GPU, and uses files extracted from the player's own Nintendo Switch copy.
The port remains experimental and is not affiliated with Nintendo.
