Valor Mortis Breaks Even Just Seven Days After Launch
Valor Mortis has reached its break-even point just seven days after release, according to developer One More Level, marking an early financial milestone for the first-person Soulslike from the creators of Ghostrunner.
The game launched on October 13, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. One More Level confirmed the achievement on October 20 after receiving preliminary sales information from co-publisher Lyrical Games.
According to the developer's official financial disclosure, estimated net revenue has already exceeded the development, sales, and marketing costs covered under its publishing agreement.
One More Level also celebrated the milestone publicly, thanking players for supporting the game during its first week.
Despite reaching break-even, the developer has not disclosed how many copies Valor Mortis has sold or provided an exact revenue figure. The financial estimates remain preliminary, with final settlements dependent on payments from digital storefronts and commercial partners.
The studio expects its first royalty payments no later than the first quarter of 2027.
Valor Mortis launched at $39.99 and combines first-person melee combat, firearms, and supernatural abilities in an alternate version of Napoleonic Europe.
The developer has also confirmed that Lyrical Games will finance additional post-launch development, including paid downloadable content. However, the costs of this expansion will become part of future revenue recovery calculations.
For One More Level, the early break-even milestone provides a positive financial indication for its new franchise, although longer-term sales performance remains unknown.
