World of Warcraft: Forever Runs on Android at Up to 60 FPS

World of Warcraft: Forever is now playable on Android devices through an unofficial launcher that runs Blizzard's MMORPG directly on compatible Snapdragon-powered hardware without cloud streaming.

The project, developed by community member jaredgei, is based on GameNative and uses Blizzard's Windows ARM64 game client alongside Wine, DXVK, and Vulkan graphics drivers.

According to the developer's official GitHub repository, the launcher supports touchscreen controls, physical gamepads, and in-app updates.

The developer demonstrated the game running on an AYN Thor handheld powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy.

In performance demonstrations shared on Reddit, both devices reportedly achieved approximately 60 FPS in less populated areas, with performance dropping to around 40 FPS in crowded cities.

The launcher requires Android 10 or newer, a compatible Snapdragon 8-series processor, and an Adreno 7xx or 8xx GPU.

Players also need approximately 80 GB of available storage, an existing World of Warcraft: Forever beta installation to transfer game data, and a Battle.net account with beta access.

Unlike cloud gaming services, the project processes the game locally. However, it still relies on compatibility software to handle Windows system calls and graphics rendering.

The launcher remains an unofficial community project and is not affiliated with Blizzard Entertainment.

World of Warcraft: Forever's current beta testing period is scheduled to end on October 21, 2026.
