Zelda Breath of the Wild PC Port Tested on RX 9060 XT
The unofficial native PC port of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has reportedly been tested on an AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT, with early gameplay results reaching up to 63 FPS across multiple resolutions.
The benchmark, attributed to YouTube channel B_MARK, uses a Ryzen 5 5600X processor and a Sapphire Pulse Radeon RX 9060 XT with 16GB of VRAM. Testing reportedly covered 1080p, 1440p, and 4K with SMAA anti-aliasing enabled.
According to the reported results, performance ranged from 29 to 63 FPS during gameplay around the Great Plateau. However, the available information does not establish which resolution produced the highest frame rate.
The port is based on Savage Wind Recomp, an open-source project developed by Revivedx that uses static recompilation to translate the Nintendo Switch game's code into a native PC application.
Unlike conventional Switch emulation, Savage Wind recompiles game code locally and uses a Vulkan-based graphics runtime to handle rendering.
The project's Alpha 2 release supports resolutions up to 4K, keyboard and mouse controls, gamepads, audio, and saving. It requires players to provide their own extracted copy of Breath of the Wild version 1.8.2.
Development remains at an early stage. The opening sequence and Great Plateau have been demonstrated, but full-game compatibility has not been established.
The reported RX 9060 XT results suggest promising performance in the tested areas, although further benchmarks and development updates are needed before drawing conclusions about 4K performance throughout the game.
