Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake Adds Boss Rematches and Timer

Nintendo has revealed a new feature for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake on Nintendo Switch 2, allowing players to revisit defeated enemies and challenge bosses again through a dedicated area called the Hall of Fallen Foes.

The feature appeared in the game's latest overview trailer, which showcased additional gameplay footage ahead of its November release.

According to Nintendo Life, the Hall of Fallen Foes serves as an interactive collection of monsters that Link has defeated throughout his adventure. Each enemy is represented by a statue that players can examine to learn more about the creature and discover where it can be found in Hyrule.

Boss statues offer an additional option called Rematch, allowing players to replay previously completed encounters without progressing through the original dungeon again.

These rematches include a built-in timer that records how long each battle takes to complete. Players can use the feature to improve their completion times and compare their performance across different boss encounters.

The concept shares similarities with the Boss Challenge mode introduced in Ocarina of Time 3D, while the collectible statues resemble the Nintendo Gallery from The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker.

The new addition expands the remake beyond its visual improvements, giving returning players another reason to revisit familiar encounters.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake launches on November 5, 2026, exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2.
