Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake Outpaces GTA 6 on Amazon
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake is reportedly attracting significantly more preorders than Grand Theft Auto 6 on Amazon, despite Rockstar's upcoming title being one of the most anticipated games of 2026.
According to an original NeoGAF discussion, Amazon's US marketplace displayed more than 100,000 purchases of the Zelda remake over a recent 30-day period.
By comparison, figures circulated for GTA 6 showed approximately 9,000 purchases for the PlayStation 5 edition and 3,000 for the Xbox Series X|S edition during a similar period.
These figures suggest that Nintendo's upcoming remake is performing substantially better through this particular retailer, although the numbers have not been independently confirmed as complete preorder totals.
The comparison also has important limitations. Amazon represents only one sales channel, while digital preorders through PlayStation Store, Xbox Store, and Nintendo eShop are not included.
Physical editions may also influence purchasing behavior. Zelda's Nintendo Switch 2 release has attracted interest from collectors, while GTA 6's boxed edition reportedly contains a digital redemption code rather than a traditional game disc.
The Zelda remake is scheduled to launch on November 5, 2026, bringing the Nintendo 64 classic to Switch 2 with updated visuals and gameplay improvements.
Grand Theft Auto 6 is expected to follow on November 19 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Although the Amazon figures highlight strong demand for Zelda, they do not establish which game has more preorders worldwide. Both releases are expected to attract considerable attention throughout November.
